It defines the structure, the role, and the processes we use to get where we want to go.
Strategy is not enough. You can’t simply declare where you’re going, then get there by magic.
It takes relentless intentionality.
As a chief of staff, you help set goals. You likely help develop the strategy to get there.
But even more is required.
Mission clarity tells us where we are going and what we are doing. Drive that into the organization to the point of being monotonous and boring.
Role clarity tells me what I am supposed to be doing…and what others are supposed to be doing as well. Make sure you’re holding people accountable to execute their roles with excellence.
Process clarity tells us how we fulfill our roles together, leveraging our collective strengths and filling the gaps of our weaknesses. Monitor carefully the team dynamics and manage the health of the team.
To ensure success, clarity is a competition killer!
